There is no surgery and no anaesthesia: there is no hospital stay, no time from work, no recovery time and no pain. Ultrasound Liposuction treatment uses cavitation to produce the frequency and amplitude of ultrasound energy most effective for the treatment of subcutaneous fat tissue. This is necessary to release fat from fat stores under the skin in areas of the body where you have excessive amounts of this ‘subcutaneous’ fat. The areas requiring treatment will vary from person to person but will be discussed by your therapist at your initial consultation. This type of sound wave can destroy the adipose cells that cause fat storage, without causing damage to any other tissues or organs. Ultrasonic Cavitation is completely safe and permanently removes fat cells.

Fat stores under the skin are relatively resistant to any diet treatment as they generally have a poor blood supply and are often fibrotic (fibrous) and calcified (hardened). The ultrasound treatment releases the fat from the fat cells in these resistant areas into the surrounding tissue fluid and this is transported away via the lymphatic system. Once the fat becomes liquid, it cannot solidify again anywhere else on the body, the fat cell is gone forever. The lymphatic system drains into the bloodstream so that the released fat becomes available for metabolism and provides an extra source of energy for the body whilst you are limiting your calorie intake. Any excess fat is disposed of via the liver in the usual way.

The ultrasound treatment has another important benefit in that it stimulates and increases the micro circulation within the skin and subcutaneous fatty tissue. Once you have had several ultrasound treatments on a body area, feel the area treated with the back of your hand and compare to an untreated area. You will feel that the treated areas feel much warmer as the tissue is much better perfused with blood than the untreated areas.
